What Are The Benefits Of Shooting With More Than 1 Camera?

In terms of multiple shoot angles and stuff like that?

Im starting to see a lot more movies being shot with more than 1 cameraperson on set and just wondered if there were reasons other than being able to get 'more' for a shoot to this?

    Regards,

    Lee

SO much in my opinion. I like the different angles personally. It's funny a scene that is only so-so when viewed from one angle, is a real crotch-popper when viewed at another.

A really good videographer and editor can make a single camera shoot look nearly indistinguishable from a multicamera shoot. Particularly with porn, it's very possible to shoot material from different angles without really stopping the action, and then cut it all together.

However, it's always nice to have a B-roll for "fill in" here or there, for transition shots, and for a second angle on the cumshot (the only part of a scene that can't easily be reshot.) Another advantage is if you need to stretch the length of the scene; having twice as much footage, from different angles, makes that a lot easier. And if you're shooting something like a multiperson orgy, it's much better to have 2, 3, even 4 cameras to catch what's going on in different places.

But for solos and 2 or 3 ways, we've shot single, 2, and 3 camera shoots. I honestly don't think that the 2 or 3 camera stuff we've shot edited up any better in the end than the 1 camera with b-roll for cumshot.

    Hope that helps.

I would just say if you do use multiple cameras make sure they are the SAME make and model. I can usually tell where people have used 1 type then another type of camera,

    agreed on several points here.

    1) insurance that if camera A get's splattered in cum that camera B will catch the action and move in. (interpreted: more footage to work with for editing)

    2) cum-quick carl can now be "extended" without the distraction of "slow-motion/rewind" visual techniques. (interpreted:quality is increased with added footage.)

    3) special features/behind the scenes are a big plus with people especially if they get to feel as if they are in the director's chair so an extra camera "catching the action" as well as "catching the crew" is a plus (interpreted: it would be almost impossible with behind the scenes footage to prove that you didn't make the film.)
