    VISA and Canadians.. AGAIN

I've run up against a problem in meeting VISA's "physical presence" requirements and am wondering what other Canadian webmasters have done.

I have no one -repeat no one - i can ask in the US or EU to meet these requirements.

The companies i've contacted to date have not wanted to do this.

So, I'm looking for suggestions, work arounds, and recommendations here people!

Are there some lawyers out there that do this sort of thing in the US?

Not sure exactly what the requirements are, but there are services, I think HQ Office is one, where you can have somebody answering the phone, a person to greet visitors to your office, and office space on an as-needed basis. It isn't super cheap, but it might serve your needs. Some of them are small independent businesses and might be willing to act as your agent. I know for sure there are Nevada companies that will even act as officer-of-record for your company.

It's not the solution you are seeking. But if you want to start a paysite, why don't you start by doing a Badpuppy or premium AVS site instead? That way someone else can do the processing for you. I realize it isn't the optimal situation but you can get on with it and worry about off-shore solutions later.

Why don't you contact Chad Belville at http://www.chadknowslaw.com/ and see if he can help you or point you in the right direction.

    Cheers

if all else fails, use verotel as your processor. last i heard they were pretty canada friendly, so hopefully that is still the case.

Yep Verotel and if it gets big you can always add NATS, I use Verotel for most of my in-house sales and even though paycom and them don’t get along I trust Verotel more than any US processor. Only hold back is the affiliate script the US processors offer, but as far as stability, good service, easy of use, on time payments, charging less, and just all around leaving you the hell alone Verotel are the leaders if you ask me. :turtle:

Verotle does not charging for wire transfers that really makes my banking easy (hate going to the bank) I really just have paycom as a canary in my porn mine, well that and the affiliate scrip they now offer (is really good) and I do think many of these independent affiliate scripts are way over priced but this will not last for much longer. :innocent:

    thanks for the responses guys..

    but that's not the problem.

according to the dudes at ccbill/epoch VISA US/EU require ID from a person physically located in the US/EU (depending on where your business is domiciled)

This is over and above your incorporation requirements.

That's fine if you a US/EU citizen but if you're Canadian, you're fucked unless you have someone willing to step up to the plate and sign on the dotted line. I don't and need someone.

    Suggestions, anyone.

And I tried Chadknowslaw but I guess I have internet cooties cuz he's not responding.

first off, i doubt chad or anyone else will get back to you till after the convention.

second, it's visa - not ccbill or epoch - who is making the physical location requirement. and canada banks haven't been very adult friendly, which may be WHY canada webmasters have processing issues.

    so why not use verotel?

    Perhaps you could:

Go over the border to America

Get a U.S. maildrop that forwards to Canada

Get a U.S. ID with the maildrop address on it

Go back home and be happy :high:
