What is it? Google adwords have been good for me, but can get costly.

Getting a gallery listed at TheHun is easily the best traffic generation tool for me.

Google Adwords at times is a good [U}revenue{/U] producer, but I have found time and market saturation to be a problem. In other words, when I first start a campaign on a promising paysite it does well, but after several months it takes a lot more clicks to make a sale with the same paysite.

I agree with Fister, the HUN will make the counters spin. You must look at the conversion ratios of that type of traffic also. They sometimes cost more in bandwidth than they generates in sales.

I'm with MenOnTheNet, a gay directory we are currently in the third spot of referral list with 96 sales generated from 17962 visitors we sent them.

17962 divided by 96 = 1 sale for every 188 visitors - thats great conversions!

I think gay directory traffic like MenOnTheNet.com is the best quality for gay membership sites because we pre-qualify the surfer first. Before they leave our site they choose their particular niche. The surfer has taken several steps to find exactly what you have to offer. They are highly target and primed to visit your site.

Twink sites get visitors that want twink sites
Bear sites get visitors that want bear sites and so on...

If you have more of a affiliate driven site then your are just looking at volume over quality but be careful because sponsor programs don't like a ton of low converting visitors. They may drop your pay scale or remove you from any pay per click programs and convert them to pay per sign-up.

For all sites you should have a balance of incoming traffic from many different sources. Some will preform better than others just never put all your eggs in one basket by only focusing on one type of traffic because it is the "best".
