You do realize by 'gay' I mean a man who has sex with other men?

I Wonder? Why Does 'Gay' Stuff Always Cost More In Adult?

    Traffic, content, etc, etc?

Why are gay webmasters still paying a premium for exclusive content, traffic and the likes when compared to straight?

You can get an exclusive straight content shoot for about $100-$200 less than you can a gay shoot, in the exact same niche.

You can get straight traffic anywhere from $1-$2 cheaper per thousand hits than you can gay traffic, again, in a similar niche.

It isnt because there is 'more' work involved, so why do gay marketers have to spend more money than our straight counterparts?

    Regards,

    Lee

Just tossing it out there and have no real clue other than the whole 10% thing.

If 1 in 10 are gay, that makes 9 for straight. So more sources for heavy traffic, more content with new faces, etc....

Less competition for services. Fewer photographers shoot gay content. Fewer traffic brokers sell gay traffic. Simple economics, really.

From what I've been told, there's less of a demand for gay product. Makes sense. If indeed only 10 percent of the population is gay, then there are a lot less gay consumers; therefore, gay companies don't make the same money that str8 companies do, so they have to jack their prices up to compensate.

I'm told that most studios can only expect to sell about 1,500 pieces of each DVD title in its first few months of release. I'm not sure how accurate that figure is, though. Seems low to me. But that's what I'm told.

I think thats couse straight market is much bigger?
i think around 5-10% population is gay,so market is smaller, and more valuable then straight market, thats why all things are expencier
but u know we still offer very affordable content, hehe

It's harder to find models for gay content and they charge more. My experience from Western Europe. Still a bit different for models from Eastern Europe, but they catch up. Unless you go to Novosibirsk or Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy.

    is this a trick question?

    because....

it take gay people longer to agree on how to do things and of course, time is money

actually in all seriousness, and as aforementioned, its because of supply and demand

Well, for being illegal there is quite a lot of activity there and a number of photographers/studios/websites are in the business for some time now. Even US companies go there and spoil the models by throwing tons of bucks after them.

Ken pretty much hit the nail on the head. Although, in the retail end of the biz, competition is fierce, which tends to keep prices lower.

    Its 2 Parts

2 Things Supply side economics and QUALITY. Are we speaking volume or averages? There is a ton of Str8 stuff shot and a lot of it is crap! From what my straight brothers tell me. Less gay stuff less of a volume of crap. Besides we all see what happens to CRAPY gay lines, uh buh bye!!! As a percentage I think there is less demand for CRAPPY Porn on the gay side. Gay consumers tend to be more demanding when it comes to quality; and the average gay man has more money to spend on disposable items like porn. When I watch a video; if the first few mintues have bad editing, sound or the color balance is off that DVD quickly becomes a coaster!!! My friends, will always choose the higher end product. OBVIOUSLY the higher end product costs more to produce, market, and distribute. I kinda like that the gay side is raising the bar so to speak!!!

    Peace,
    Douglas
