Traffic Verification Details + Programs

Hey Guys:

Hope you guys are well. I'm writing to ask about how you guys confirm traffic to your sites.

We're using Google Analytics + Server based traffic program (Analog 5.32) but are a bit skeptical of the hits.

Do these number look high, low, realistic? Maybe our site is being blasted by spam bots?

Does anyone know a reliable traffic program?

The reason we ask is that we're trying to better understand who and what is coming to our site , why, why the leave or stay, where they go on the site etc.

Do these number look high, low, realistic?

They look crazy to me, it looks like you actually burn more bandwidth on your sites tour than you burn in your members area... That means 1 of 2 things, you are doing something drastically wrong on the sites tour or, you have nothing but feeds in your members area.

Is the Analog Stats claiming 10k unique visitors per day correct?

We get approximately one sign-up every three days.

If we are getting 10k unique visitors per day, then we've got a conversion rate of 1:30,000.

Could that explain the use of bandwidth on the tour???

There are no feeds in the members site. All content is stored locally on the server.

The tour is takes about 2.6 megs of transfer feed because of the large flash trailers.

We're redoing our tour to make it less intensive.

We're just trying to figure out how to get the conversion rate up.

the reason for the 10K unique visitors is that your banners are being hotlinked from a few blogs. The actual visitors coming to the tour are a lot less or only 600, according to server stats and google..

You might want to host your banners on a different domain so you wont mess up your sever stats.

Thanks Darling for your detailed comments. I think this points to our need to focus on building affiliates etc, traffic generation programs and improving content offerings etc.
