    Google Sidelines Adult Domains

Not sure if you folks have heard (some of you probably already received emails from Google regarding this), but Google has made the decision to no longer allow adult domains to be included in its AdSense program.

I'm just wondering what your thoughts on this development are. How do you think it will impact the industry?

    Story here for background:

Sedo stopped allowing AdSense on their parked adult domains a few months ago, i dont really see this having an effect on many in the adult industry and to be perfectly honest, there are better ways to monetize adult domains than using AdSense parked pages anyway $0.02

In essence, if you have a parked adult domain, for example, with a 'hosting' related term, i can see why a lot of 'hosts' wouldnt want their brand name associated with 'porn' just like car, candy, and other high profile companies wouldnt.

I mean you could park the domain ChocolateMommas.Com and you'd see ads for Hersheys all the time.

By only allowing companies that want to bid on adult specific keywords on parked pages, the owner of that domain is going to make more money in the long run anyway, most non-adult companies that appeared on parked adult domain pages only paid out about $0.05 per click compared to 'adult' companies who pay out in excess of $1 a click a good portion of the time if you use the right targeted keywords

    Regards,

    Lee

Honestly I think this is a good move for Google there was way too much fraud for their adult ad sense. Even at 1 cents a click I couldn't convert for shit.

Google is just mimicking real world standards online

You don't see Gay porn ads in the yellow pages or porn magazines in mainstream stores

I don't approve of their decision though I am extremely happy it will help fuck up the parked domain industry.

Some for some unknown reason i was under the impression that google never allowed adult sites to participate in adsense. I agree with Lee, their are better things to offer your traffic so who cares?

It makes me really happy - I was getting so tired of having to fight the click fraud - and worse, having "my" domains bastardized in a sedo site (ie; musclehunk.com) - and then PAYING the bastards, through adwords, just to get my own traffic back to my site.

I hope it puts a lot of the parked domain bastards out of business.
