What are some of the differences between straight sites/programs and gay?

    1. gay members generally seem to have multiple memberships to sites (its not uncommon to see 4-6/mo.) compared to what appear to be straight surfers

    2. gay members generally rebill significantly longer than what appear to be straight surfers

    what are some others?

You do realize by 'gay' I mean a man who has sex with other men?

I think 'quality' comes in to play a lot more on the gay side of things, especially when it comes to the types of content the surfer is offered inside the site.

From what i have seen, most of the straight niche paysites have more 'feeds' than actual 'content' that is hosted by the paysite.

I also think there is a different mentality from gay surfers when it comes to porn, for most gay surfers, they look for one, maybe two models that look 'hot' to them and join a site because of that.

On the straight side of things, i beleive surfers look for lots of models that are hot, which is one of the reasons, imho, that the whole '1000's of pics' became so popular on tours.

You could put 1 guy on a gay site, throw 1000 surfers to it and make at least 1 sale, in straight, you could put 1 hot chick on a site, throw 1000 surfers to the page and you *might* make 1 sale.

    Regards,

    Lee

This might seem obvious...but gay paysites tend to have guy on guy action...whereas straight sited tend to have guy on girl action.

    Hope that helps.

are you talking gay paysites in general or gay paysites run by people who focus on the gay industry? 'cause there are large programs that have gay paysites, although you can see the designers and decision makers are often straight with a glance at the text, themes or even the photo choices sometimes.

A very interesting question Corvett. On the billing side of the business, you see a trend of longer recurring with gay sites.

Since 1998 I have only dealt with gay sites. Years ago I had a thought I should also market to "the 90%", but felt that I was unable to determine the proper attractiveness of women to create a viable site.

You also wrote that stats appears to show that a typical gay buyer may have several memberships within a one month period. I think that relates directly to Basschick's comment.

Since having reviewed a few sites, I am now getting a quick sense via the tour if is is gay-owned, straight-owned or what I call "boringly-owned" (whereby a person tosses together limited content and feeds and waits for suckers and the eventual chargebacks).

There does seem to be a difference in the thoughtful content quality and presentation in the three groups mentioned. It is my personal belief that Gay webmasters tend to offer a site they personally would wish to visit, offering the various features and customer service that retains.

gay paysites in general...so i meant gay programs who have all gay sites + the gay sites within the "megaprograms"

yea, i didnt touch on the sexual preference of the owners, those be hard stats to get out of our database

let me through a similarity out, generally, the % of men that sign up to straight sites is about the same as those that sign up to gay sites
