Giving an old site a sudden new spark

Recently IdolKnights started an interesting thread entitled "trending into tomorrow". http://forums.gaywidewebmasters.com/...ad.php?t=23239

At the moment, Blogs and RSS are all the rage. To me, The blog is tired and I hardly even read them any more. I find that I go to more of the main source sites now. As the blogs are just a build-up of unoriginal content produced by someone else. (Unless it's a producer or artist blog where the blogger uses it to showcase their own works)

He had much valuable things to say, my just quoting his first paragraph.

I have been paying attention to blogs much more recently. Some seem to be offering new technology and/or services that would seem to work well with my small review site. They even could, I suppose, work with paysites.

I saw one blog had a way to click to listen to the blog. It seems like a unique feature worth investigating. Alas, it was not a male voice but I remain curious about http://www.talkr.com or another similar adult oriented service similar.

Imagine... a slideshow of images and a voice talking... perfect hands-free.

Anyone dealt with this kind of feature?

For sake of SEO - you wouldn't want your full load being shot on Audio + Photos. As an extra, it couldn't hurt BUT here is where you need the marketing hat.

Audio serves best as in radio - So - An audio option of your blog with Ipod download makes a little more since to why there is an audio option.

Audio with pictures - Take is one step further and move the images.

In my post, I think I touched on using video storage sites for hosting and running a video blog for viral reasons. Use the embed codes offered by the hosts and you have less of a bandwidth issues with videos on your .com. And with the right watermark, you gain more type in visitors.

But you will need to research internet "trendy" to know how to make something viral and not have it banned or removed from the video host.

You also wouldnt want 'audio' on a porn site, this was something i was taught very early on about porn surfers, they dont like sounds on adult sites unless it is in movies they are playing.

well imagin you are surfing porno and your partner is in the kitchen, no without sound its annonymous what you are doing, however having sound blast out of the speakers sort of announce it to the world :high:

I don't know that that's entirely true. When I was working for William Higgins, he did an audio "walk through" of each weeks' update with backstage stories from the shoots and commentary about the models and it was INCREDIBLY popular...

Right but the difference is.....

The surfer had to click a link to get that walkthru to play.. As part of a movie.

It wasnt started automatically as a stand alone audio file.

I'll tell you.. there are a zillion blogs and without a gimmick or a way to make yourself stand out, there's no way you can be any different than anyone else.

and with sites like Blogspot making it too easy for people to steal our content and distribute it for free, it makes it harder to actually get sales from them anyway.

but the Fratmen podcast still converts about 1:100 for the few people who promote it, and our blog has been converting pretty well too.. so maybe it's not quite over yet.
