How are you promoting VOD sites?

Are you doing anything diferent to promote VOD sites? Do you upsell in membership area, or offer free minutes, or something else?

My VOD marketing has not been producing enough return in the last year to be worth the effort, other than it's fun to do and doesn't take much time. Most of the marketing is on a TGP with featured videos, a free 30 minute offer and free hosted galleries.

I suspect to make significant income from VOD that it is best to create a big website devoted to VOD.

To generate VOD sales you have to have 2 things...

1) Surfers that are willing to PAY for porn. Meaning no TGP or link list surfers who go to the big sites looking for 'free' porn. Instead target the VOD to traffic that you know will pull out their credit card, inside AEN/AVS sites and paysites for example both AEBN and MaleFlixxx do really well for me on both these types of traffic.

2) Regularly updated promo tools. Just throwing up a banner and expecting the surfer to click and join the VOD/PPV site isnt going to work, you need to show them that they will get fresh, regularly updated movies on an almost daily basis, continually updating the ads they get shown is a great way to do this, either through using RSS/XML feeds or some kind of banner rotation script loaded with a bunch of ads.
