How very typical . Isn't it criminal to sell something to someone that makes there other stuff nonfunctional? Like if I bought a new Sony brand car that made me have to upgrade my current Sony phone so it would work?
My next computer will be a Mac. I know they have their problems as well, but has to be far less then PC's. I'm getting to old to be reinstalling shit constantly and working out bugs, not to mention losing productivity, and in Lees case, money. :pimp:
Same here
From my perspective, in the beginning PC's were far superior in available software and flexibility (prgramming in Dos, etc.) and I twisted my mind to learn and expand as the software did, putting up with crashes etc because it was a superior product and at the forfrunt of software development.
Now, I use my computer mainly for graphics and video production, surfing the web, checking mail, database and spreadsheet work. Macs can do all that without all the hassles and constant virus attacks.
Anything I miss?
How much is it to buy Office2007 btw?
I bought Office 2007 with my new computer. I likened it to buying a new house and then new furniture to go with it. I will upgrade in 5 or six years; just a cost of doing business.
And no, I am not going to buy a Mac unless everyone else does first.

Keeping you out of trouble is easier than getting you out of trouble!
we're looking forward to the launch of Leopard in october - should be a nice addition to the mac os X we enjoy
Three weeks ago I bought a new notebook and it came with Vista. On one of the shelves in the store I spotted a box of openSUSE (Linux distribution). For almost a year I have plans to change to Linux and this was the best opportunity. It was so easy formatting the Vista OS and setting up Linux. I'm still testing and looking for a few alternatives to Windows programs, but so far I'm happy with the change. As soon as I'm completely familiar with Linux I will convert with all my computers.
