    who gives the lamest excuses?

its amazing the excuses that have been flying across my desk recently, mainly from adult designers. I think, without fail, every time I have ever hired someone to do design work they have a serious illness in their family (usually their mothers). Its almost like clockwork, I hire them & pay 50% and wait a week, then get in touch with them for an update and their mum was sick / in the hospital / on her deathbed / etc...

So who do you think gives the lamest excuses?

    cheers,
    Luke

    Now Sam...

You know as well as I do, with gay people, it isn't excuses, it's DRAMA!!!

So it will be (said at 100 mph) "OMG my best friend's boyfriend left him and came back to his apartment and took all his stuff and even his clothes and he needs his new suit to start his new job and I have to go with him to get another suit because his boyfriend has left town and no one knows where he is"

I think Chip was not making that up, he was repeating an actual excuse he heard from a model :-)

I pay ALL my bills on time...unless I forget and have to be reminded...but then I pay promptly. :glasses:

I am frustrated everytime I go to a show and see people that owe me money spending and spending. Their excuse? Well it is always the same:

"We are just a middleman. We sold your DVD's to ________________, and they have not paid us yet, so we can't pay you yet."

To tell the truth, I don't think I've gotten that excuse verbatim, but Chad is quite correct that I have heard many, many excuses that were even more ridiculous than that one... these are all real stories I've been told...

My boyfriend trashed my apartment and I had to move out before he came back

My friend went crazy on acid and I have to go talk him down

My friend got drunk and passed out and I just got a call that he's sitting in front of someone's house and I have to go get him before the police come.

My mom figured out that the "modeling" shoot I was doing was porn, so she won't let me out of the house. (This one turned out to be true, but the guy got out anyway.)

The sad thing is, I bet, thinking about it, that *all* these stories were true. That's why I said, with gay bois, you don't get excuses, you get drama.

Hm I think corporations in general. Don't get me wrong - I use them for most services of course. But somewhere along the way, common sense is lost.

I remember having to change a plane ticket (and since I was use to flying Southwest and they make it so easy) this was my first time using another company. So instead of doing it the most sensible way, he rep was going in a round-about way. I'll admit - I lost it and called him a moronic corporate imbecile. (At the point, I got transferred to his supervisor, who switched everything around the sensible way.) The supervisor did explain that reps did not have the authority to do it "this" way

I find that Chip is right. With gays it is all about drama! And God forbid if your project falls around a gay event like pride, Halloween or some circuit party. Work stops for a week on ether end of it.
