Anyone here from a Deeply Religious Background?

Just curious to know if there is anyone here who comes from a very religious background? I ask because for a great many years, I was one of Jehovah's Witnesses and we all know what their stand is on being gay, but in their eyes, making gay porn is just unthinkable. Needless to say, I havent been one for a long time but I was just wondering how any of you with strict religious upbringing like the Mormons, JW's, 7th Day Adventists or even Scientologists have coped with or dealt with what you were previously taught about being gay.As well as do you have any guilty feelings or misgivings if you like about what you are doing now in the adult industry?

I don't know if strict is a good word for me.
I was baptised, and I was a Chaplain's assistant in the army does that count?

I spent four (4) years in a Benedictine Catholic Monastery preparing to be a Monk. My job doesn't contradict my current personal beliefs in any way. Although I am sure it would disappoint a few of those who shared monastic life with me. :eek:

My former business partner (Ryan) was raised in a very, very conservative Baptist family, and went to Christian schools from kindergarten through 12th grade.

His parents found out that he was gay, and doing porn, at the same time (when they found boyfunk.com, which at the time had a huge pic of him on the front cover, and pics of him blowing his then-boyfriend on the tour.)

Needless to say, it took a pretty long time before they were able to accept either his homosexuality or his work in the adult industry. I'm still not sure they've *accepted* it as much as tolerated it. And Ryan is out of the adult industry entirely now, so I'm sure that's made them happy.

Im only asking on here if others have gone through similar experiences because, even though I havent been a JW for about 10 years now, it wasnt until only about a year ago that I finally broke free of the head f$#@ that it put me through. I still felt guilty being gay. I saw a movie called "Latter Days" about a mormon guy who realizes hes gay after all and honestly, when I saw it, I was in tears because it was like that was me being messed with by the people I thought loved me for who I was. So anyways, its been a year or so now that I have been doing porn and I do not feel guilty one tiny bit. In fact, I love it. All those wasted years closeted..its all over...:broccoli:
