    What Causes This To Happen?

I have some content on a CD that i was sent last week, i can see that there are 'files' in some of the directories but my PC wont let me copy them over to the hard drive from the CD.

This only happens with a couple of directories and everything else copies over with no problems at all, i just dont understand why some folders and files arent working when they were all burnt to disk at the same time, using the same method etc.

Anyone know why this could be happening?

    Regards,

    Lee

A bad disc? Bad burn? It's been known to happen.

Sometimes it's also an old drive starting to get picky about what it wants to read.

I have that problem also, I'll make a cd for someone and they can't copy the files from it on one computer, but they can on another. Try copying one of those on a different system and see what happens, it may be a bad burn as mentioned earlier, or an old cd burner was used to make the disk.

I have also had that happen getting cd's in from other people. I have found that when it happens it is usually stopping on the same file over and over. Skip that one and try again (which, yes, means you cannot just copy the whole direcotry) then I'll open the files that didn't copy and SAVE them to my hard drive.

I always just chalked it up to a bad cd

those are the cheat codes for Legend of Zelda - I expect you need to talk to whoever sent it to you and ask for the secret password to open them
