Why Has Nobody In The Industry Ever Launched..

A porn video game or anything that can be played on Xbox, PS, etc?

You'd imagine with porn being as popular as it is, this would be an avenue at least one program would have looked at, especially when programs are already working on 'porn' set top boxes etc.

I read somewhere the other day that one company (i forget who) is actually investigating the viability of these virtual online communities now (Second Life, etc) to see if they could be profitable for 'virtual' pornography.

Do you think this is just not a viable business product to put out there or do you think this actually hasnt been examined by those in the industry?

I know someone right now that's doing just that. They own the license to a particular brand and are spending a sick amount of money to develop the game.

Actually there are a lot of porn video games, but they are all in Japanese as far as I know. It just hasn't made it over to th US yet. :pimp:

The dating sims game that were on teh PC Engine were pretty kool.

There are a couple companies that have done porn or hentai games for x box actually it's just a bit underground.

mainly beacuse you have to have dev mashine to test builds and stuff.

well why it hasn't been done I do not know. However what it takes to do it I do know.

1.) You need a DEV mashine (developer) these dev xboxs or PS2-3 are upwards of 10k a pop

Then you need to hire people to test play the game, find any bugs in the ganme and then have the dev's remove them. it's a long process, and you obviousslly have to pay people for their time.

Okay so moving forward after you've goten most of the bugs out of a game, you get to submit it to sony or microsoft.

they HAVE to approve the game.

oh wait maybe that is why no one has done it now that I think about it.

submitting a game is another 10k or so.

You know, i would have expected MarcDe to be the first to do something like this, especially after he had a successfull launch of Savage a few years ago.

with the knowledge base he has about both industries, i'd say the same!

I'd guess it's a $ issue. A good game cost $5mil+ to develope. Big games like world of warcraft cost $50mil+

Cost is an obvious matter, but to make a game on an xbox or a playstation anything, they company would have to approve it.

do you see that happening?
