    I sure miss Patti!

Is everything going ok with her... just busy? Or have I just been missing her posts somehow?

    aw... thanks

5 weeks ago, i found out i have diabetes, and dealing with researching it has taken a lot of extra time since i decided to do it with diet. when my diabetes got better, my vision got better - except for my reading vision, which got much worse. i got new glasses, but they didn't work out so well, so i'm waiting for the replacement pair.

once my new glasses are done, it'll be much easier to read the posts and to type - right now, i have to put my face up to the monitor to read, which makes it impossible to type. and when i type, i can't see it, so i have to check everything for typos afterward :-/

on the plus side, the diet i'm working with for the diabetes is helping me lose weight - i've lost 12 pounds in the last 5 weeks and feel much better

Well that explains the mess of typos in that one post during the contest!

My partner, Che', has Diabetes, and I also used to run hospital and nursing home dietary departments and know a LOT about the special diet requirements, so if you have questions, hit me up.

I'm so sorry to hear that you are going through all of this now.

But I'm glad to hear you are getting positve results with the diet. And the eye problems... I won't go into any details. But I have been having horrendous problems with my vision too. So I can certainly relate!

A little tip that has helped me with reading on screen...
When using IE7, to see things at a bigger size, just hit ctrl+ and the screen gets bigger until things get readable. Ctrl- reduces the size and ctrl* returns it to normal. This may work with other browsers as well but I haven't checked.

    Hey Patti,

Sorry to hear about the diagnosis, but many congratulations on the weight loss. I know how that feels. You go, girl!

Patti, I hope you are feeling better soon. I'm afraid I don't know anything about diabetes. Best of luck in getting it under control.

I know the reading thing sucks!

I have 3 pairs of glasses sitting on my desk and can't ever remember which pair is for what! and I loose them half the time as well

the big screen thing helps - mine is enormous and I still +++ it up until my text is 10 feet tall

you'll be fine and your on top of the situation so you ARE in control - that's a good thing

we need you - you ARE the best!

(see...I'm typing big AREs so you can SEE them better....)
