Mailing list / Bulkmail Script needet

    Hi,

I just bought a project and that's got like 64K members signes up to a community area (which is postnuke). I would like to email them in the near future that the memberare is updated and the overall design is updates, too (besides that remind them of the mere existance of the project). I do not want to SPAM them with other sites.

I want to pull a database extract with the name/email of the member, import it into the application and off it goes.

Do you guys have recommendation on which script/software/hosted application I should use?

    Thanks a bunch y'all

I have used Subpro. its ok. we have also used PHPmailer, it is also ok, the biggest problem we found with sending out mailers on our own mailer server, was that we quickly got blocked from mailer ISPs.

We use a 3rd party service called GotMarketing.com they have relastionships with Yahoo, Aol, MSN and a ton of the major ISPs so you know that your mailer is going out.

Also, GotMarketing has a ton of tracking features that the other programs did not have.

    Good luck

    thank you guys

gotmarketing.com - to email my 65k members it would cost 250$ + 187$ (overage) just to check which emails bounce

on the other hand it is true - 65k emails WILL get me blocked and blacklistes on many ISPs and SPAM blocking networks...

    What would you do?

gotmarketing can give you a deal to check the list. there are some other services, not sure if they are free, but for the likes of MailerMailer.com you could sign up with a free service to check if the address are good.

For some reason I remember someone telling me there might be a program that can check the names without sending out an email. But I am not sure what it is called.

go buy a unix or linux shell acccount, and run the remail sxcript with that account.

if it gets blocked who cares.

    or better yet.

go buy a cheap computer pop linux on it get a nick card and set some random ips, get a bnc bouncer, pop it as a co location or something, and run your mailing script.

    there ya go.

i must say that my advice is the absolute best
