I think I'll check into this as well and let you know, via AIM, if I find anything. I did paten and copyright research for quite some time.

The only real issue I see is finding original copies for use. If it's PD and someone else puts it out with even as much as one frame removed or added, it's their work. Also with the Bono act, some things are a little harder to identify as completely PD at the moment.

I collect vintage 8mm gay porn from the 50's-60's-70's. I have over 500 loops sitting in storage.

My primary goal was to protect them from being lost completly. They are a part of our history and I wanted to try and preserve as much of it as possible.

With recent 2257 issues at JT I am now a little nervous about any transferring them into new format for usage. Obviously they are all way before 2257 and most were underground films back then, so there is no documentation whatsoever. Most are in cardboard boxes with hand written labels.

The other funny thing is it shows just how something that is underground is more valuable! I have 7 min film reels from the 1960's that have $60 price tags on them! Can you imagine someone paying $60 in the 1965 for a 7 min gay porn clip??? No wonder Falcon and Colt made so much money in the early days!

I have a feeling I may just end up donating them to the LGBT historical society here in SF. They have a bunch of early gay erotica in their collection.

It's funny... since posting this I've had a bunch of people who wanted to get in contact with me about the project.. and a few people who were REALLY interested when they heard what we're up to.
