How Diversified Is Your Business?

I was wondering how many of you folks were diversified in your current businesses?

Do you market to one demographic only? Are you only dealing with B2C or do you handle B2B stuff also?

The reason i ask is i was just talking with someone on ICQ and they couldnt understand how i could have so many different facets to my business, translation, resources, programs, content, software, adult, mainstream, etc.

I countered that i couldnt understand why someone wouldnt have multiple revenue streams and im pretty sure the person didnt understand what i meant LOL

So how many of you folks actually do more than just sell porn to gay surfers?

Well I suppose you could say I am diversified. Other than my own porn sites, there are the mainstream sites. Plus some other ventures that keep me hopping, including doing some minimal importing.

Putting all the eggs into one basket was fun years ago, but with all the changes happening online, its also become dangerous. So yep, I do other stuff, to keep the income coming in, but also to protect it.

While writing is a nice vocation, is fun even, I am always looking for other challenges to help spread things out. I don't see that changing, given the dynamics of the porn industry these days.

Couldn't have said it any better Ian - no more "all my eggs in one basket" ... they tend to break when I do that and there's only so much scrambled eggs one can eat in a lifetime!! LOL

I have different streams of revenue, and intend to continue doing things that aren't inter-dependent upon the other, but actually do use the same skill sets across the board. So what I may learn for one thing, carries over into something else.
