This ad appeared at the bottom a page today while I was surfing MySpace. It kind of pissed me off, so I thought I would share it with the rest of the world.

Isn't the new nominee for Sugeon General running something similar?

Yeah that pisses me off too. However i sure that tom has posted bulletins about offensive bottom ads and he is trying to deal with it.
You do realize that "he" is like 400 people that work for News Corp
Tom has *never* actually been the main guy behind myspace, he was chosen by the original team as the "face" of Myspace to give the illusion it was being run by some guy out of his basement.
Myspace used to be pretty cool, but it has become so overrun with porn spammers, phishers, and other scams that it's really annoying...
All the spammers and shitty ads didnt start till a few months ago...
The original creaters dont even own it anymore... Rupert Murdock bought it for a hefty chunk of change just under a year ago...
That's why it has gone down hill... he bought it for the advertisement purposes... obviously his plan going quite well...

Interesting to note that the head coach of this center, Rich Wyler was educated at the Brigham Young University. This whole site smacks of the teaching that they have regarding homosexuality. They say its a choice (among other minor factors) and you can get rid of it by torturous methods. Part of that Universities mission statement is:
"To succeed in this mission the university must provide an environment enlightened by living prophets and sustained by those moral virtues which characterize the life and teachings of the Son of God. In that environment these four major educational goals should prevail:
* All students at BYU should be taught the truths of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Any education is inadequate which does not emphasize that His is the only name given under heaven whereby mankind can be saved. Certainly all relationships within the BYU community should reflect devout love of God and a loving, genuine concern for the welfare of our neighbor."
So there you go. I thought this center has some religious ties somewhere. To top that off, one of the other centers he has founded "People Can Change", it cites various reasons to give up being homosexual. Guess what the number 1 reason is out of the 189 online surveys they recieved to 'give up' being homosexual.. "Desire to heal emotional wounds at the root of my same-sex attractions (SSA) – 91% (a major motivating factor for 77% of respondents)."
The least reason.... "Shame – 73% (major for 41%)"
Personally, I think that its the other way around. Shame is No. 1. Shame which has been instilled on the gay community by religious fanatics such as the Mormons, Jehovahs Witnesses etc etc etc .
I dislike myspace. Its become a free for all to promote whatever bigoted ideas someone has and this group seems to be getting in with their warped ideas to all the young people who frequent myspace.
