This Is Pretty Good - The Web 2.0 Color Palette

With Web 2.0 becoming the norm faster and faster, someone actually took the time and came up with a Web 2.0 color palette based on the schemes some of the more popular Web 2.0 sites are using at the moment...

I must admit, im really digging the Flickr pink color for some reason

    Regards,

    Lee

Why do we need a color pallete anymore. Who has their monitor color bit depth at anything other than 32bit or at least 16bit?

What we need is MORE font choices!

Does that mean that any other color will be disregarded by surfers and search engines???!

No, these days you can use any of the RGB colors, not just the old 256 "web-safe" colors.

What the hell is WEB 2.0? I tend to agree with posts above.

Is this the future that we not only have to becareful of what images are exposed but it can only be an official color?

Web 2.0 largely about uniqueness and innovation and somebody has come out with a regularly used color pallet....?

Will we die along with Web 1.0? Or do we need to invest 40-70K $$ and build our own "social networking" crap ?!

How will I implement web 2.0 into my free sites? Into AVS sites? Into TGP galleries?

will the whole industry need to change just because web 2.0 exists as such at this point and made no big difference to the industry (if I'm regarding blogs and "social networking" crap)

What does that mean to site owners? For example for Badpuppy or SeanCody?

Is Web 2.0 just something that will gradually evolve or is will it kill internet as we know it?

    Thanks for reply

web 2.0 is a BS term for what, in a nutshell, simply means, the change in how people use the internet and the languages, programming to streamline their use.

10 years ago, people used geocities to build a webpage, today they use myspace.

the hotness of myspace over friendster was the use of custom codes for personal layouts. (web 2.0 = all social sites offering "css" code profile changes)

Social sites = Myspace, flicker, lastfm, youtube

Web 2.0 = content driven via user interaction minus the affiliate payouts

Yes, there is a ppc mod set up in the new world but I see it being a flash in the pan lasting maybe a year or two before people stop getting paid or hacks are built to work the clicks.

you should look at an online history if you didn't live it and you will see a lot of rehash in ideas. Just consolidated.

ezboard, geocities, Live Journal, classmates, friendster

just off that list, how many big sites today use a business model structured off 2 or more of these in one site?

With web 2.0 (as a programming language) you can streamline the content and connect the users in new ways.

Flash is thought of as web 2.0, though we know it from web 1.0. With the flv streaming video and live user to user connection webcam chat through a web based hub - this is web 2.0

You are asking what something is when the answer is way too large for a simple "web 2.0 is php" "Web 2.0 is social networking" "Web 2.0 is a new color pallet"

Wow all this mystery about what Web 2.0 is.

Web 2.0 is just a compilation of the aspects of the web that we currently use and where things are (and have been) headed.

For a simple explanation go here Lee's article also explains it fairly simply. It's just a name "buzzword" for what many of us in the adult industry are already doing; blogs, social networking, sharing videos, etc. etc. etc. - all put together.

I'd be weary of using the mentality that you have to now throw the kitchen sink, and then some, in with a site to be current and make money, or more money.

Interactive communities, as some of us know, take a LOT more policing, manpower, man hours and a HELL of a lot more liability. Weighing the pros and cons before diving into a fully Web 2.0 venture is wise. For instance... many people don't want their porn surfing experience interactively connected to their other online experiences (their blog, myspace, mainstream forums, ICQ) for privacy reasons.

Many people compartmentalize different aspects of their lives, i.e. different groups of friends, sports, work, lovelife, nightlife, etc. So while the porn industry will still have interactive dynamic Web 2.0 sites, we will still not be a totally connected, integral part of most surfers full Web 2.0 experience with where things are headed.

On the other hand ebay, google, paypal, etc. will gather VAST amounts of information from Web 2.0 communities/users and be able to use it in ways we could only dream of
