Does anyone know if AdSense works based on geo location?

By that i mean, if someone from Germany hits one of my AdSense sites, will they see their ads in German rather than English?

Hiya Lee,
That is a good question. I too use adsense on my main website (non porn)
So it got me wondering. I went over to my adsense account and did some looking around. Seems that adsense may just work that way.

From Adsense
"The AdSense program uses geotargeting to serve Google ads to your pages - ads are specific to a user's region and language, based on their IP address. This means that the ads that are served to a user from Australia may be different than those that appear for a user from Canada. By selecting a country from the drop-down list, you can see what ads are being shown to visitors from different areas of the globe."


I found this page with a tool to test how your ads will look to people in say... germany to use your example.

Thats actually interesting if it does serve ads in a different language to what the site is coded in.

It also raises some interesting questions about how Google determines the ads to show, to say a German surfers if the site is written in English.
