Low Cost Methods For Programs To Increase Traffic?

I wanted to make a thread where we could share some ideas on ways programs could increase their traffic/sales/affiliate bases at no (or low) cost to themselves for those of you wanting to launch your own affiliate programs over the next few months.

I know there are a ton of things you folks who already have sponsor programs do so how would ya feel about sharing the love for those just starting out in this area of the industry?

Here are a couple of obvious things new program owners can do to increase their program awareness in the industry right off the bat...

1) Have a 'resource' page and submit your site to as many of the larger webmaster resources as possible.

2) If you have galleries, submit them/your program to some of the FHG directories such as sponsorgalleries.com, fhglists.com etc.

What are some other methods you program owners currently use to broaden your reach to potential affiliates?

Better add in running banner ads for your program on Gay Wide Webmasters..

This is actually something ive been working on and researching over the past few months and im actually really amazed at the amount of programs that dont maintain their own in-house traffic sources, especially given how much the industry fluctuates today.

Linklists and TGPs are good, but don't forget toplists, review sites, blogs and other traffic generators. As a program owner, the more traffic generating sites you have the better. These are not expensive but just time consuming, and once you get your network of sites running you will also be able to offer special positioning to your affiliates (eg partner accounts or hard link trades), or at least sell to non-affiliates on the submit pages.
