Of all the gay sites that have launched in the last 5 or so years, which one do you think has been the most original niche idea?
Also, did the niche take off after the first site was launched or did it die out?

Your question seems to give credit for the paysite creating a niche. Does the paysite create the niche? From my perspective the paysite just put a public face on the niche... now, is it, or was it, a niche that was in demand enough to 1) justify the cost of the paysite 2) pay for the upkeep/new content needs to feed the site 3) continue growing after the initial burst of Lookie Loos...
In some respect the paysite does create the niche, at least from a popularity standpoint, for example, DILF, we all knew what the niche was, but there was no where for surfers to go in order to find that type of content until the dilf.com site launched.
Within a month of launching dilf.com there were copies of the site, free sites, blogs, even movies starting to be made all of which lead to the niche exploding and becoming a lot more 'mainstream' in the adult industry.
In Google, the search term 'dilf' went from less than 200 search results to almost 200,000 search results in the space of about 4 years.
If the 'niche' hadnt been made popular by opening the DILF paysite in the beginning, would it have still become popular to surfers, affiliates and program owners creating the duplicate sites all based off my initial marketing concept?

I think the Menatplay guys deserve a lot of credit. They had a great niche concept about 5 years ago and have grown it beautifully.

Fratpad is a "Live and interactive Reality Show" that get the members involved. Fratpad is a soap opera that members can almost join as a charcter themselves.

No offense taken Lee, the point of my post was to point out a great site that converts well...although collegeboyphysicals.com is full of twinks and fratboys and yes medical fetish has been around for a long time and perhaps not very original...the site is doing well and it has a different perspective to it and it appeals to a large audience including those that are into medical fetish.
Even though it had no correlation to the question being asked?
