Mark my words, some idiot has been posting on the boards how animated gifs increase click through rates and make sales to sponsors.

I give it 2 months max before all and sundry are offering their affiliates animated gifs as promo tools $0.02

ok, what do you mean by animated gif as every sponsor i ever joined or promoted offered tons of animated gifs - a big portion of the banners offered by programs are animated gifs..

so either you are thinking about something else when you say animated gifs or i think you are to freaking high to be at the keyboard.. :bush:

Lee are you talking about those gifs where you have animated sex? If thats the case, surely flash would work better? But no ive never seen a program offer that, i thought they had died out with flash movies.

Exactly, why use animated gifs when flash is going to be 10x better.

I guarantee sponsors will all jump on this now they have been 'told' it will make them money though.

Maybe it will if it gets a higher ctr. If that was the case, wouldnt Condom Cash add them? If someone is stating that, maybe its worth testing?

I had to look to see if this thread wasn't started in 1995, . We have lots of animated gif banners for our affiliates.

And I've always preferred gifs over jpegs from other sponsors when they were available. Imo, Flash banners are virtually worthless since the IE update that caused an extra click just to 'activate' them first. Until Microsoft can get with the program or create a simple work-around, Flash banners are dead to me.

They used to be all the rage, at least in mainstream. I get your point though about the extra click.

I find that bloody annoying. I have obsessive compulsive disorder and i HAVE to activate the link.

The other one that gets me is the pop up blocked bar you get at the top of IE.

Actually can you turn these things off in IE?
