Closing Down A Site And Cancelling Rebills - Why?

What is the point in closing a site and cancelling all active members so they no longer rebill?

Even if the site isnt going to update, surely its better to keep making money from the sites existing customers?

    Regards,

    Lee

The only thing I can think of is that they want to launch a new paysite with similar or same content and try to entice existing members to move over to it. Other than that, I can't really think of a reason.
TropixxxCash.com is a CCBill affiliate program for the male spanking and punishment site TropixxxVIP.com.

If the site is closed, it doesnt really matter, the member can just cancel their membership if they no longer want access.

But even then, why ask the members to move over to a new site, if they want to join the newer site, they will anyway.

I honestly cant think of any reason why all active, recurring memberships should/would be cancelled under any circumstances short of the site just 'vanishing' and if that happens, the site owner is just crazy if they have active members to pull the site down, because that would be a bunch of CBs waiting to happen.

Perhaps 2257 concerns, or a major server crash without adequate backups.

If they were opening a new site, why not offer the old members multi site access to the new site. If the members are rebilling, i cant see why youd cancel them. Surely there is allways a better way to keep their money?
