Advise and Consent? is that the one from Alan Drury series? I loved that book and show if its the one I am thinking of...

Me too. Loved the book, and the movie. I have it on DVD as well. It's kind of ironic to see Charles Laughton in there, and imagining what was going through his mind knowing the blackmail theme was all about Brig and his gay affair. Brig's b/f looked pretty hot, though.

I wished I hadn't missed Advise and Consent.

I did watch most of The Fox, which is a 1968 film treatment of a D.H. Lawrence novel about lesbian lovers moving out to the country to escape society.

Kier Dullea was "the Fox" ..... boy, there's a "Whatever Happened To...." actor.

I think he went to Jupiter in 2001 and got type cast there, unfortunately.
