Based on what you just said, everyone should still go right ahead and open up a TGP, TheHun gets millions of hits each day, getting 1/10th of 1% of his traffic would be good too but you dont see webmasters telling others that opening a TGP is going to make them thousands of dollars, why is opening a social network any different? It isnt, the bandwagon has passed and those who werent on it arent going to be able to catch up.
The same is true with review sites, everyone has one these days it seems, people launching new review sites stand a slim chance of theirs becoming as popular as RabbitsReviews, TBP, GayDemon, etc now because the time to cash in on the craze has already passed and surfers already have their favorite review sites in their bookmarks.
Likewise, i still see people trying to cash in on that 'million dollar homepage' pixel selling site, even though the time to do so has passed my point is, just because someone else is doing something well, that doesnt mean that everyone should go right out and launch a similar site, product or service because the chances are, by the time they do, they will have missed the boat and will be fighting a constant uphill battle to get traffic.
Work smarter, not harder.
