OK.. so my attitude is really that your avatar should not only sum you up personally, but should also convey your corporate image.

The corporate image of Fratmen is that we're a high-production value studio run by drunken, over-grown, Rowdy Fratboys.

But for those of us who know each other, you have a bit more lattitude.

We're still in the business of personality and we gotta kinda pump it up a bit.

My avatar is me. On a bike. from a photo shoot I did.

People see the pic, they know me and they can kinda relate it to what we do.

And the first thing that Patti ever said to me was "Wow.. you're real.. you're not just a head shot."

A good avatar will get you noticed.

Sure, something as simply as an avatar or sig line can hurt your business. Their are those out there who have absolutely no sense of humor at all when it comes to their religion or politics so if you offend them, they will not do business with you.

So I was on a mainstream forum last night and people were bitching about one user who had an image of Jesus and the text "Even I post here" as their Avatar.

It's a popular forum and though the avatar was a mild joke at the attitude of the forum owners, people got into a huge uproar to the subject.

Can something as simple as your Avatar hurt your business image on a forum?

And would you rather the "face to name" feel of a real headshot? or doesn't matter to you?

Forgot to say, I personally love some of these avatars, but if I'm going to do business with someone, it's always nice to see what the person looks like....makes it a bit more personal.

Dean.....I think lots of folks would buy and wear that t-shirt, of course they are all assholes and hate mongerers...as far as them being an asshole, the only thing to determine is the diameter.

I recall a few years ago seeing a guy wearing a t-shirt that said "Have you bashed a Fag today". It was down south in a red neck bar. The other red necks in the bar thought it was a cool t-shirt.

Their are lots of nuts out there.

I think one of the the craziest things about hate shirts like this, is that they are probably worn by a lot of the same people, that would be completely offended by a t-shirt bashing jesus or god.
