You do realize by 'gay' I mean a man who has sex with other men?

How Do You Decide If You Are Going To Reply To Someones Thread?

I was just curious to see how everyone made the decision about whether or not they will reply to a persons thread on a message board?

Do you have certain criteria that has to be met before you'll add a response to a thread? Does it have to be biz related? Fun? Quirky? Do you have like the person? Etc?

What makes you decide to respond to someone on the boards?

    Regards,

    Lee

If the post topic interests me, and I feel I have something worthwhile to contribute... who starts it, if its fun, business, whatever is secondary.. least to moi

Pretty much the same for me ... if I can contribute, I try to. I do admit that sometimes who starts the thread can stop me from replying though. I don't have the patience or energy for people who want to waste my time, drama, game players, etc.

I've always been openly gay. It would never occur to me to behave otherwise.

Ditto. If the answer to the question (which I give based on my experience) will bring negative responses I don't bother. Some folks seem to argue for the sake of arguements sake.

I think the question should be "how do you decide if you are going to read a thread"...I usually read threads that I think are interesting or that I can help in or provide support (technical, moral or other). And reply when I feel like it

This thread topic sounded boring. I almost didn't reply to it.

It depends. Yesterday I was cranky, so I replied to everything that pissed me off. But mostly it's "do I have anything new or interesting to say?"

    My feelings EXACTLY.

There have been a few times when I could have said something constructive but then thought to myself, "No, this person is an asshole to everyone on the board..." so I keep my ideas and thoughts to myself.

    :innocent:

Sometimes though, it is fun to be a smart ass and just jump in.
