    the future of computing

some predictions from PC Magazine's "crystal ball":

2008 - Wimax services launched in the USA, its like wi-fi but no more hot spots as its available everywhere within major metro areas

2010 - the first memjet printers hit the market, printing 60 pages per minute. The trick: multiple print heads that span the entire width of the paper

2011 - chips go optical. High end machines get chips that use optical connections instead of copper, improving data transfer rates 8 fold

2015 - motodrive technology cars roll off the line, with the ability to calculate speed and position relative to other vehicles, these cars automatically avoid accidents

2019 - wash and wear oled (organic light emitting diode) screens hit the market, meaning laptops that roll up and smart phones and music players that are built right into your clothing

These predictions are somewhat based on technology being developed today, I think they are pretty kewl.

there is a new WiMax provider who has covered all of Panama, unfortunately their prices are outrageous at $250 for a 2mbps connection. It would be nice to see this technology catch on and get more affordable.
