blog embedded videos - how?

Anyone know how I can easily create embedded videos for my affiliates to use in their blogs? I want to be able to generate that type of code that you get from youtube. I am sure there is an app out there that will do this for me, but where????

Do you mean for hosting on your own servers?

If you use a third-party host (such as GayForIt, Megarotic, xTube) their encoder will convert the video file for you. ICQ me if you want to talk about it.

And why wouldn't you? Don't pay for bandwidth unless you have to, right?

Yes, I want to host these on my own server and offer them to my affiliates to embed into their blogs. I have been using Flash Video MX which creates html code snippets for using in pages, but I want to create the code for affiliates to easily use too.

I chose not to host these on freesites as that would introduce a potential huge traffic leak.

I'm a little confused about this part of your answer. If it is just a brief promo video, why would you not want the free advertising to be 'leaked'? I mean free publicity is free, wouldn't you want it to be seen as many people as possible?

I would rather not have xtube links all over a video that is supposed to be advertising my paysite, thats just giving the surfer a chance to go visit xtube and get off on their free stuff instead of joining my paysite.

I know that affiliates will agree as well - pretty much ANY traffic leaks are unacceptable and that includes on promo materials too.

Anyway, perhaps you don't realize that for me, bandwidth is not a concern

We have some javascript code for our affiliates to embed pictures/text for hosted video previews in their blogs or wherever. It opens a separate window to play the video with their links. We may be able to edit it to have the video play right in their blog, but we haven't try to add that code yet.

Thanks, Jimmy, I took a look at what you did and I have actually done something similar, like at this page: http://gay-video-free.com/blogs/fmr1-9.html
and I can easily mod that to pass the affiliate ID to the banner / text link. But ideally I would like to get the ability to offer that video to put directly into blogs like you can do with youtube. If you are a code junkie maybe you can get it to work like that?

Yes, for the most part. I didn't use all the parameters you had, but the way it is now you can change affiliate id, width, height, video file, and bgcolor from a simple script line like the ones on our host content page. The affilates would paste 1 line of code into their blog and it would pull up like in our test blog.

That means with a bit of tinkering with smarty tags, we should have 100 or so embeddable flash videos for blog owners by the weeks end
