general vs niche paysites

Those of you with general gay paysites and niche sites ... are you finding the niche sites are converting/retaining better? And which keeps its consistency? Our general video site has done well for us consistently for 5 years, while our bareback niche site is flying now but its still too young to see if we will get those long-term retention numbers.

Jockbutt is obviously a niche and it converts very well. I have a kind of backwards take on the "content" comment above - I think my content is successful because I'm focused on the niche/fetish (you have no idea).

My friend who runs smokinghunks.com even more fanatic about his fetish site, and it shows in his content. And he does very well.

Not saying this is you, but it just seems to me that many generic sites come about because someone just saw that porn made money, so that's what they went after. It stands to reason that they can easily lose focus on their content and go downhill.

I don't mean that as a slam on anyone, it's just a theory...

While I do make a decent level of sales for general gay paysites, I don't find them easy to market. When I run a freesite/TGP gallery campaign, I always pick a niche site.

i think the places you advertised them will be best to see which sells like i wouldnt put a bear site on a generel tgp but i would put a generel site
