Why Are You In Business?

Have you ever noticed how seemingly meaningless and simple questions can sometime have the most convoluted and coplex answers?

I asked the question in the thread title to a webmaster on AIM earlier and it took the guy a god 15 minutes to come up with an honest answer.

With that sai, i figured i would throw the question out to our community members on GWW.

So.. Why are you in business?

I'm primarily in the business to make money! (as I think most of us are) However the fringe benefits of a great community to work with and the satisfaction of knowing that I have been creative in an area where others just won't go is great.

I believe that you should do something you love for a job, that way it isn't work it is having fun everyday! I am lucky to say that both in creating sites and my full-time job I am blessed in that respect.

Personally, I got into this business so that I could make enough money to live comfortably and so that I could have a business that travels with me to wherever I go. My partner & I have lived in quite a few places, in the last 5 years alone we have lived in Ottawa (Canada), Wellington (New Zealand), Melbourne (Australia) and Brisbane (Australia) in 7 different houses...and we are starting to get the itch to move again

I started out as making money on my own terms - No Wall-Street-Stepford-wife-everyone-is-dressed-the-same-carrying-Coach-briefcases clones. Then it grew from there.

It's still about the business of making money but there are tons of perks from porn to people.
