So Really - What Is Happening With HR4472?

I still havent heard ANYTHING from the FSC about this yet, for a group that promotes itself as wanting to work for the adult industry when they need 'funding' they certainly arent doing a good job this time around.

Has anyone actually heard anything about what the FSC is planning (or even thinking about) doing in relation to H.R 4472?

    Regards,

    Lee

I believe they are sending in detailed comments.

There isn't a whole lot anyone can do as far as injunctions and whatnot until the final regulations are published, because there's nothing to restrict enforcement of.

True enough but, compare H.R 4472 to the initial comment period about USC 2257, there is a remarkable LACK of communication about it industry wide, every board i visited a couple of weeks after the proposals for 2257 were made public was buzzing with talk about them, why no interest now?

It is almost as if webmasters just dont care

actually I have to agree with you.

I was amazed how, when the thing was passed last summer, practically no one said much of anything, and (outside of the obviously unconstitutional regulation of "simulated sex" and the attempts to regulate non-nude, non-explicit content) there really isn't that much in 4472 that is dramatically different than the 2257 regs that created so much outcry.

I think people either don't understand, don't care, or are taking a "they won't come after me" mentality about it.

i think a lot of people don't know. they get this one mixed up with 2257. the 2257 thing had some people - me included as well as fsc people - making a loud noise about it. but sometimes ya just get tired. seems like there's always a crisis giong on and people sort of shut down. 2257, .xxx more than once and all the other stuff.

heck, everyone told me firmly that we would never seen any inspections. they were sure that the 2257 regs wouldn't go against the law as they did. so many people tried to brow beat me into leaving our explicit stuff up - with the best of intentions. i think people shy away from believing bad news, but unfortunately that makes it impossible to take the proper action so both your business and yourself are protected and can adapt.

I am waiting for a plain-English interpretation and a list of talking points to help me compose comments.

During the first round of 2257 comments, I was afraid to have my name attached hoping to stay under the radar.
