The Different Types Of Adult Paysite?

So i was looking the various affiliate programs in the adult industry earlier today and it struck me the amount of different types of paysite there actually are, have any of you folks actually given any thought to the sites that various sponsors have in terms of what they are and, more importantly, what the sites purpose is for the affiliate program who owns them?

Solo guy sites, mega sites, personal sites, sites used as upsells, sites used as traffic tools, vanity sites, etc, etc.

How often do you actually look at the type of site you are promoting and try to figure out what the purpose of that site is to the sponsor and why?

I was actually quite amazed at the amount of paysites open for affiliate promotion that are nothing more than tools to upsell surfers from the tour or exit consoles where the traffic we send to them (as affiliates) has little or no chance of even hitting the join page :eek:

You're surprised by that?! I have always avoided those types of sites like the plague. But affiliates continually get sucked in by the big PPS payouts and bonus days. I've only ever promoted sites that I'd actually join. Ok, I've been suckered in a few times by the mega-programs. But for the most part, my formula has actually worked for me.

even tho it's $5 less payout

I allow popups on my computer just so I can see what the popup situation is with a site.
