I Wonder? Are there "Turnkey" gay porn sites?

Are there companies that do all the gay website groundwork for you? Buy a domain, get content, design the website, arrange for credit card payment, arrange "900" numbers, hire phonesex operators, setup AVS, help with generating site traffic, capture client email into a database for possible newsletter campaigns, design an affiliate system, search engine optimization, email autoresponders, etc. ?

If so, how does it all work? Do they just set it up then depend on you to generate traffic and income? Does just the "Turnkey" provider make money, not the buyer?

I have one little webpate I am trying to make money from. I'd be happy just to get $800 profit a month. Now I get barely enough to pay expenses even though I do everything I can myself. (I confess. I am a cheapskate.) I'm in a catch 22. Don't earn enough to promote it enough to afford to promote it. How do you start small and work up? Who do you trust along the way?

There are some companies that do provide turnkey gay websites however, as with any turnkey solution i would advise you to use caution.

If it seems to good to be true... it usualy is

Unfortunately many of these companies have been known in the past to scam unsuspecting webmasters however, with that being said there are a couple of reputable companies that do offer such services its just a case of getting as much information on all the different services available and finding one thats not only reputable but also one that is the most cost effective for your needs

    Hi HugeBrandon

and hi everyone else, I know a lot of you but this is my first time posting here!

I saw your question Brandon and I had to answer you.

First of all.. let me say that we do offer turnkey sites..

BUT.... I don't advise you to go that way. I know it's contrary to my own business, but here's why I'm telling you that.

I've been in the design and content business for years now, and seen a lot of people that are new to the business. They come to me asking for sites that are either already designed or want a design of their own. They know nothing about html or the adult business in general. I'll tell you right now, that I've never seen this type of client make a success of their business. I've also heard horror stories from people who've paid thousands and thousands of dollars for turnkey sites and ended up with nothing after realising that they just didn't have the know-how to run them and make a success of them.

If you want to go the turnkey route, I would first learn the business, know what you want and the direction you want to go. Run and control your own business. It's fine to use designers for something you want done, but to put yourself in their hands is a big mistake in my opinion.

I guess the cliche appropriate to what I'm saying is.. nothing good comes easy

The adult boards are full of "oh woe is me" newbies who have tried the turnkey way to quick money. They plunk down thousands of dollars, and then discover they don't actually own the domain name, and a whole slew of other things ... and paying out the butt every month for feeds or hosting that there isn't a membership base of income to support.

Bottom line: If you don't know how to market, you won't succeed with either a site you've built or a turnkey site.

Take the time to read read read, and then read some more! Ask questions, and answer the ones you feel you have something to contribute to. Networking has always been the backbone to any business's success, adult porn or otherwise.

And you can't expect to make a good living off of one site. You need to learn how to build a good hub site with either pay, free, or avs combination of sites that work thru that hub. And utilize a combination of marketing techniques, link lists, top sites, tgp galleries, and search engines to name a few.

The GWW forum has a tutorial board that will save you weeks of anguish as well as save you from expensive newbie mistakes. Go READ!

Brandon, if you are keen I will work with you to get this all set up and running with you doing minimal work. I will hire others on this board to design the site for you, will set up the hosting, content and plugins and will hand it all over to you as a custom "quasi-turnkey" site.

Just let me know your budget and I will make it happen!

    cheers,
    Luke

the way a turnkey website works is that they supply the website. you supply the marketing. but why not get a good designer and make your site from the ground up the way YOU want it? a designer is not a paysite owner - he or she may not know the best layout or text for your niche.

if you have a reasonable budget, you can pay someone to do your marketing for you. be cautious when you do this - there are some great marketers out there, but there are plenty of scam artists. also use someone with experience in your niche and market. if you find someone to market with experience in your area, you might even have them help design the site for the niche you choose.

without knowledge of the web and your market, you may not know enough to know whether a site is worth buying. consider this: many niches are VERY well represented. there are about a zillion general gay sites out there - without a twist on the same old theme, they are getting harder to market. but there are niches that there are fewer of, and some are very popular.

so some research can really help you!
