Fucking and Hot Tubs...

There is no question that lots of people like to shoot "wet" scenes. You know, scenes shot by the pool or in and around hot tubs.

We just got back from our trip up north and spent some time shooting in hot tubs. What a nightmare. Its always fun to enjoy sex in and around but when your trying to work - its another story.

Its impossible if your trying to use "water based" lubes! And worse yet, when you have a BRAND NEW all redwood hot tub (like ours in Berkeley) - the last thing we need is elbow grease or gun oil fucking everything up and creating a slippery situation!

We've had lots of complaints from our friends that rent out their places for pool shoots or hot tub shoots only to return to disaster when everything is coated with gun oil that take hours to clean...

Anyone have any recommendations? Anyone else ever have problems with lubes in wet environments?

Perhaps it is a colorado thing, but I could never figure out how to keep the camera lens from fogging when filming in the hot tub, so we gave up. Never got to the lube problem!

With shower scenes we just make them shower in room temp or cold water...but the hot tub steam always got in the way...

Thank god we just film SPANKINGS now!

There are all sorts of ways to stop a lens from fogging up, just like there are all kinds of ways to stop face masks fogging up when you go diving, Dad uses something on his car windows to in order to stop the rain, salt and dirt from sticking to them, Rainer or something its called that works well.

huh?

we're not shooting under water (we leave that to Jacques Cousteau and his rubber suits) - and "fogging" is NOT the concern... there's plenty of that over the bay already...

the concern is this... water based lubes dissolve - their "water based" - and chlorine tends to shrink up the "opening"... (although we tend not to use chlorine products in our hot tubs... only in the pool)

gun oil is an OK lube but completely fucks any surface it cums in contact with.... so what's the real solution (to use) here...?

ok Chad - so the answer is....

to focus on the underwater as in the Jacques Cousteau method and abandon any notion of the "by the side of the pool or hot tub" and might I add, very boring approach

next time we're in Key Largo, we'll give it a go with some practice footage...

anyone else want to join in with some Tony&Cam RAW experimental footage?
