Announcing the 'Unzipped' Blog!

Hey folks,

Wanted to let you know about an exciting new venture that we've taken on here at Unzipped mag: our first-ever blog: http://unzippedblog.net/.

Obviously, it's not exciting in the sense that it's a new idea or anything, but it is exciting for us to be able to offer coverage to topics and/or events that we are not able to cover in the pages of Unzipped itself. This means there is a lot more opportunity for studios, sites and parties to get some attention.

So far, we've only had a "soft launch" and have not publicized it very much at all. We're still feeling it out for now until we know how the higher-ups at PlanetOut (or our new owners, whoever they may be) react to it. We think it's a great extension of a proven brand, and we are loving the challenge that such an undertaking provides us.

Anyway, please check out the blog (http://unzippedblog.net/) when you get a chance, and let me know what you think.

I'm not sure. It's still all on the down-low right now. We'll examine more of those options when the new owners take over.

The editorial assistant was actually the one who started it all. He created a renegade MySpace page and we started batting around ideas and I came up with a slew of them and then he decided to go register the UnzippedBlog.net URL and I've been doing the majority of the posting to it. It's a lot of fun. And I get to exercise my writing chops doing shorter stories and as quickly as possible.

Glad you folks like it. It's nothing incendiary, but it's cool, and if you're a porn fan, I think it's a pretty hot blog to frequent. I established a pr@specpub.com email address so that studios and sites could send their news to us, so that we are more on top of breaking events as they happen. It's tons o' fun right now. Please pass the word.
