Personally I like Bad Puppy Magazine and the Advocate. I've been reading the Advocate for ages now.
If it's a surfer type/consumer mag though, I'd suggest Bad Puppy.

If your looking for something like that gets a lot of readers by people that buy things, Spec Pub's mags work good too.
Expecially if you have a store, or something like that.
You'll get more with a kind word and a 2 by 4 then you'll get with just a kind word.
