    After a long not seeing

    After a long not seeing

Well as many of you know me and what I have been going throw with my lover to get him into the country and many of you know to that I haven't seen him in a long time. Well this weekend I went to see him! What and adventure! First off I know what I was getting into knowing that I would have to drive close to 700 miles but also with a dog! Anyone that travels with there other loved one knows what I'm talking about. Remember that my sweet YOYO hates the car!

Let the adventure begin. 4:40 Am set off for the great north white! But first make sure I have the dog's papers, my passport, and travels checks plus the ATM cards. All set and off I went. Car loaded with all of Eric's things. Sirius radio going, radar detector, and GPS.

It was too bad I had to listen to my little dog wine for 2 hours none stop. Ok not a bad drive but Maine is a drag to drive throw it's one of the states that never ends! It never needs it's like the bunny it just keeps on going and going and going! Finally the boarder, Yes! I can see the Canadian customs and can't wait. Passport and dogs papers on the dash board and I'm ready. Hold it not so fast because 500 feet away from the line up of other cars I was questioned from what I thought was a Canadian customs office, wrong! First off the guy who I thought at the time he was Canadian was a US customs agent.
Why are you going to Canada, do you have over 10,000 dollars, any weapons, do you have the dogs health papers. He was asking the questions so fast I couldn't answer him, but when he finally did stop grilling me and I tock my eyes off his guns, and the M-16 that the guy had behind him I finally answered all his questions. I blasted US Immigrations and what happened to my lover! He just looked at me like I was nuts then he informed me that he was US customs, and I told him I didn't care and that's why I just drove over 600 miles. Well, he just waved me on. I really don't think he was ready for my answer.

The Canadians, fist off I thought that I was in some kind of porn movie they all looked like they where 18 and would make a good movie, well I am in the adult world after all, and I was feeling my age looking at them. They asked me the same questions but was friendlier then the Americans. He told me to pull over my car and go inside where I had to fill in a form with some really stupid questions. The whole time one agent was looking into my car. After 1 1/2 hours they told me to have a good time but put the radar déctor in the trunk a $160.00 fine! Seems like they where pulling over everyone with a dog and there was anther gay couple being questioned to If that all wasn't fun? It started to rain, but rain like I have never seen before! Rain and heavy fog. After I got onto Hwy #2 my GPS had a white screen to it and my cell phone had no service, of course no map. The GPS went on and off so at lest I had some clue as to where I was.

Ok where I was going was a quiet college city the GPS came alive thank god! Eric meet me at the door and the first loving words out of his mouth where "what happened to you, where you? I tried to call your phone but you didn't pick up." I just looked at him I really didn't know what to say. YOYO after a short time went nuts finally realizing he was in from of Eric. The whole trip the dog was by his side!

The first night I stayed at his room that he rented but for two people and a dog it was small very small plus I had to sleep on the floor with him, Oh did I say it was cold to? So I didn't get much sleep at all. Ran to a place called TimHowards or something like that for a really bad cup of coffee and a bagel. I was in trouble it sucked. Looked on the GPS and found a dinner on the other side of town and the food was good! Spent the day walking around. Seemed like we walked ate and walked some more. I really like that sleepy friendly little town! That night we rented a motel room cheap clean and a real bed! That night the dog stopped eating and she has had medical problems her whole life so we thought we where in for it again. I was hoping she was just shell shocked for all the driving and walking.

So the next day it was back in the car driving the 695 miles back home with out my lover. It was so hard seeing Eric crying and I mean crying that I had to leave. I did spend the morning with him and he did have to work that night doing shit work in a restaurant. Not like when he was here in NYC teaching math and English!

Hit US customs I thought here we go again. The lady was friendly and that tock less time then paying a toll. She did ask why I was in Canada and for a short time and let me tell you not only did I blast US immigration but the Vic council general of Malay. And president bush for hating gay people! What where they going to do deport me, not let me back in? Maybe that would have been a blessing and maybe that's what I was hoping for.

The trip home seemed even longer just Maine wouldn't stop the thought of being in a twilight zone movie kept on coming back to me. Id spend the rest of my life trying to get out of Maine. After 400 cups of coffee hitting almost all the state run rest stops I finally hit NYC and the traffic holy shit bat man! This time the dog just jumped in the back seat and fell asleep most of the time. When it was her walk time she just wouldn't get in the car I had to pick her up.

Well the next planned trip up there is for Thanks giving and this time I plan on spending more then a day. Was it worth it only one word YES!

    I'm a little confused.

You drove 800 miles to spend 2 nights?

And you have problems with immigration so you think it's a good idea to yell at customs officers? You may want to try taking a sedative next time you cross the border. Getting angry and telling every customs officer your story is not going to help you in the long run. Don't you think that they keep notes about your behaviour in your file?

Oh Roy! I'm so glad you got over to see Eric, if only for the shortest time! Too bad it couldn't be longer, but soon enough.

I feel sorry for any Customs and Immigration agent that crosses your path!!

Are you making any progress at all in getting him here?

If I were you, by now I'd be tempted to take advantage of the most unprotected border in the world.
I post here to whore this sig.

Yes I know, but the waters have been tested on how to get there. I wrote the Canadian government and they showed me closer crossings so next time I will not have to drive throw Maine, or at lest not the whole state.

The next planned trip up there is going to be Thanksgiving and spend a few days. What cut the trip short was the dog, we where to afraid that she was getting sick but turned out she was just over tired.

Yes it has been really hard on the both of us. Right now we are both on kind of hold till the jack ass gets out of office and we see if the newer government is kinder to gay people or still controlled by the right wing bible thumping assholes.

    Matt

The answer to your question is very simple NO. This government sucks big time! Looks like we are going to have to wait till he does his masters degree before he can reapply for a student visa, or unless they pass the Uniting families act.
