I like 3-column layouts, much more room for advertising
My only suggestion is to expand the overall site to 1024, whats it at now? about 800-850?

I agree. I need to play with the CSS a lot...

The blue is overpowering, but given its a blog... once you have your posts in place... it might appear different... as right now it is to close together.. but if you have five or so posts in between top/bottom it might look less overpowering.. so hard to gauge ..
