    What should straight webmasters avoid?

I'm not gay, but I am a webmaster for gay sites. I want to know what to avoid so I don't offend anyone, much less insult potential customers? The reason I ask is that I had a site with a pink background and someone told me that the color pink doesn't convert gay traffic and might be offensive. Like I said, I'm not looking to offend anyone so I was wondering what other types of text or imagery should I try to avoid?

    Good Shit

you should probably stay away from anything that would be considered 'stereo-typical' gay... ex: pink, triangles, rainbows, the word "fabulous" (haha). those types of things are okay for 'pride' like sites; but when it comes down to porn; we won't want to be reminded of the fact that we're homos; we want to see things of sexual nature....boys/men or the things we associate with men/sex. unless of course you are going for the girly-boy fetish; then no holds bar

like the others say: don't stress that your sites are "gay"

I never seen a straight site telling that "straight men are fucking straight women" or "totally straight sex between men and women"

And like everywhere... colors count a lot and it is definately NOT pink (unless you do a bottom-boys-site maybe)

Pink is not an issue if used right. Too many people think "pink" is a stereotypical color but the issue is HOW you use it. Not THAT you use it.

Speaking as a gay man, that is.
