musclehunks and powermen affiliates

Hi all - if you are one of my affiliates at any of our sites please keep a heads up for an email from me.

We have finally gotten all of our sites under one CCbill account, and as a result, powermen and LMS affilates will need to change their linking codes.

If you are only a musclehunks affiliate, no problems - it will stay the same.

Im really happy about this, because now your traffic wont be bled by our cross sales, and it should simplify all of our lives greatly!

yes, but anyone who has posted galleries with your content is screwed because if they change the galleries at all, they risk being blacklisted or having all their galleries removed from many tgp systems

The link codes on old galleries would no longer function and the affiliate would no longer get credit. And TGPs do not allow any changes on a gallery once it has been submitted and listed. If a gallery submitter is caught making changes to a listed gallery, they will be blacklisted.

Wow...thats rough. Why are they so against someone making changes? To prevent folks from somehow using galleries that are not theirs or what?

Too many gallery submitters try to scam the TGPs by changing their approved galleries. Some will add malicious code to galleries or break TGP rules in other ways.

As with everything else in life, the assholes make it so much harder for the good guys. Thats a shame because the galleries I have seen with MH and PW material are nice ones. Would attrition be a good way to do it? Have affiliates sign up for a new account and gradually over a year phase the old ones out of the galleries?

the easy way would be to allow affiilates to continue to use those links if they choose to, and also offer the new links. it's better to get some sales from your traffic than to either get none or get blacklisted by your traffic sources.

btw, alex - there is no attrition with galleries. i had 6 year old galleries making sales when i pulled everything down in 2005 - i have 3 year old galleries making sales now.

which is why it's always good not to use straight CCBill links but instead a PHP redirect or a nice link management script

They CAN use their old links, the other account numbers will be active... BUT... they wont be able to get any credit for sales going to one of the other sites.

We have tried to make this as harm free as possible!

PS - that is why we have never actively advertised our partner program up until - well, next week... because I couldnt get movement on getting all our accounts under ONE account.... and though people were making money on our sites, they were losing money on our cross promotion.

CCbill makes it really difficult, and we dont have staff to use NATS - so, we are really trying to do the right thing by our affiliates in the best way we can....
