We have a special kind of dildos for cameraman and the lighting specialist. So that if they do something wrong I can always use a dildo on them to return them back on the track.

    Order dildos for cameramen!

i'm not a big rebel fan - mostly because i find them uncomfortable to hold - but with the right lenses, one can do very nice stuff with the rebel. nicer, in fact, than will show on the web.

i might have gone for a non-dSLR - the canon S5-IS - as it takes very good pics in good lighting and shoots videos. what i actually did go for was the canon 30D, which is the big brother to the rebel.

that being said, many photographers use the rebel XT or XTi. make sure you order some fast, good quality cards for it and an extra battery or two. the battery grip might also be a benefit. expect to buy more than one lens, and remember that all lenses are NOT equal.

i believe that lowpricedigital is one name for a famous scamming retailer. if you don't buy the extras when they call you, you may or may not get your camera. there are reasons why they are charging that much less than retail - one reason may be that they are not authorized by canon, which means your warranty won't work. check with canon directly, and if the company is not authorized, i'd kill the same and either pay a reputable retailer more for the camera or get the S5-IS or if you want a dSLR a pentax K100D for the same money.

200 series though i'm probably going to step up the 3 ( interpreted: i'm waiting to see what the others have to put out first though. )
it isn't the still camera's that kill me in price , it's the video camera's , there's one ( and i need 3 ) i really like which is around $14,000.00 ( why is everything i like expensive? , even my men! )

sincerely ~ ..."so if i buy 2 can i get 1 for free?"... :fool:

p.s ~ i will be away (vacation) so i won't be answering any messages/emails , everyone have a happy and safe halloween

you'll do fine with that camera. I don't know what type of shooting you do, but a speedlight like the 540EX II would eventually be a good investment. The on-cam flash is, like most, atrocious.

when recommending a speedlight to newbs, do you recommend that they use it on its own or in conjunction with studio lighting?

I don't use a speedlight for studio lighting. I don't know anyone who does, though I'm certainly not the last word on lighting authority..

I use it for event photography - I did Jimmy Z's muscle show at the Faultine with it. Worked very well. It's also good for outdoors photography ... pretty much mandatory I'd say.

Don't f**k with cheap off-brand speed lights, though. Get what works with your camera, ie canon-for-canon, nikon-for-nikon. The lights talk to your camera to tell it the correct settings. You won't be happy with Brand X.
