Heres A Thought osCommerce or ZenCart comparisons?

Am looking to install a shopping cart system on a project, and have the option of either osCommerce or ZenCart. Anyone have any experience with either, and opinions on either?

They have been selected for their integration into the payment solution being used. So any comments appreciated.

    thanks in advance

    Hi!

I have looked and run both, and currently use ZenCart which I find easy to install and add a new template should I wish etc.

I think OSc has changed since I last used it and to be honest I was looking at OSc again for a new site I was setting up (just so I could try something different again!) but I went back to Zen.

OSc are bringing out a new v3 apparently in the next few months, but knowing ZenCart if they bring out anything too different they will update ZenCart as well.

Of course there are other forms of OSc - CRE Loaded and OSc Max that are OSC but with addons already installed - but then again I found that some of the `addons' came standard with ZC anyway!

I guess in 1000 words or more I'm trying to say I use ZC and am quite happy with it and what it does etc.

    zencart

Zen is a bit more "user" friendly but OSc is great too.
My choice between the two would be ZenCart since the templates are easier and I've heard less issues with ZenCart.

yeah - Zen is the easiest.

Hmmm thought that by now technology would have advanced to the point where it would be a lot more easier than even this.

    easy e-commerce

    There are easier solutions...

    1. MonsterCommerce
    2. Yahoo Stores
    3. Ebay

But they all have their drawbacks.
For stores that allow you to be more creative and design it look like "your" site/store instead of a template you need to have the software do more..and that means sometimes harder to us.

We focus on Miva Merchant and VantageCart.
But Xcart, osCommerce, and Zencart are good.
