What Is One Thing That Annoys You About The Industry?

For me it would be the fact that new people entering it still think that they know everything there is to know and despite being informed they are wrong, even after being shown proof, they still think those of us that are being truthfull with them are lying to them.

If someone who has been around almost 10 years tells you something isnt going to work, you can pretty much guarantee they are telling you that because they, and numerous other people, have tried it, and it hasnt worked LOL

So what annoys you folks about the industry?

At the moment I'm kinda bugged about how seminar panels seem to be stuffed with people who are more interested in selling their product or service than actually giving worthwhile advice.:jasun:

Thats always been the way with shows ran by certain companies, than again, when certain people are on the panels that have no working knowledge of the business, all they can do is talk about their own product because that is all they actually know $0.02

I should point out that I'm not really going on about the panel I was on this past weekend.. exactly.

I'm glad to have taken part and I'm glad I was there as the voice of decent. I know it's rough not to get up there and plug your own product but it would seem that some people had a little trouble doing that. I really do think that there were some great mixes of people on those panels but there were a few I thought who really needed to have done a bit less flag-waving.

I think a workshop format would be a good alternative to the panel. Instead of having an hour of self promotion, one or two people presenting practical applications, but then that would require preparation and a lesson plan.

The more I LEARN about the Porn biz the less I enjoy watching Porn!

I know the old Sausage Factory Analogy applys

but the one consolation is I do find the business fascinating and the participants like most in Adult Entertainment are regular Joe's and Jill's just trying to make a living in a super competitive field.

I do get my bubble busted on occasion like when talking to a director friend about how much I loved Tickling Fetish,,He told me how much of that was fake and he didn't think it was anything but silly!

Well Hell who wants to be told their fetish is Silly!

That's the problem with a lot of people who shoot fetish porn, they often shoot models who aren't into a particular fetish so they are not really into it, or the director knows very little about it and just wants to hit a market, so you end up with a product that falls short of it's intended purpose. That's why I hate leather porn. It's usually just a bunch of guys in harnesses fucking. I see fucking all the time, I don't care that they are in leather. Sure they look hot but for me, personally, I need to see the power exchange between two men, I want to see real bdsm done by people who enjoy real bdsm.

However, if you're watching a guy getting tickled and the video makes you hot, does it matter if it's real? As long as the performance is good and the director did his research and gave you a video worthy of your fantasy, then you can still enjoy it. I saw one video where a guy gets put into a leather straitjacket and worked over and it really got me going, then I found out later that the guy putting him in the straitjacket put it on upside down, and the bottom wined the whole time. But when you see the video it's an impressive performance.

And I agree, it sucks when someone says your fetish is silly, but I think that's part of the nature of fetishes. The guy who says tickling is silly may go home and jack off to a collection of pics featuring guys in bright pink speedos, or women eating pickles. Most often, fetishes that other people have will seem totally ridiculous to us.

Oh, and I almost forgot. For a while there in the LA leather scene I got the reputation for being a notorious tickle bottom. But it was a total lie. I hate being tickled. But I do love attention so when a hot Top wanted to tickle me, I'd let him. And apparently my laugh is so loud it would carry through the bar. So everyone kept wanting to tickle me.

And when the next convention comes around don't even think about it people. I mean it.
