Where Would You Folks Have A Newbie Start Out?

We have a friend who would like to get in to the webmastering side of the business and i must admit, im at a loss as to where we should get him started out.

Do you think it would be wise to have him start doing free site building and submission first or, should we get him to start learning some of the more technical stuff such as movie encoding, image resizing, etc so that we can eventually start using him to do stuff for us on a more long-term basis?

If you were in our position right now, what would you have one of your friends start doing in the adult industry?

The guy is motivated so whatever he ends up doing im pretty sure he is going to be successfull at it but where do i start him out of the gate?

I would say that before he does absolutely anything, he should spend about a week just searching the existing sites. Have him look for what works and what seems more difficult to maneuver through in each site and from site to site. Have him look for repetitive content and note those things that he sees on more than two sites. It will help him get his feet wet and get to know the content of other sites so that you don't become a cookie cutter site, with the same content as a hundred other sites. He'll get his knowledge from other site's successes and less than perfect attempts and then let him get into the free content which we all know has some repetition, but he'll get to see how to work with the content and set up pages before getting into the hardocre pay dirt aspect of your site.

When all else fails, you have no time to find someone and need to have an update, you should know how to process your work yourself.

It also gives you a small amount of respect on the time it takes to do "shit" work.

I would say learning how to generate traffic and manage it would be number 1. So i would have them learn about all the methods of generating traffic and let him start there. It's the lowest risk option also.

I am not sure if your question is where to point this 'newbie' at for his OWN entry into porn, or if as where to start him off for 'working' for you.

If for his own entry into running sites, or whatever, as odd as it might seem, I'd start him off blogging. It requires adherence to a schedule, to gain traffic, it also requires research for posting topics, plus in how to insert graphics, how to resize them even for use in a blog. It also helps him take into account design issues, and how to get traffic.

It teaches how to make links, within a post, and does make you sort of learn the various levels of html as well as some css. It can also help get a feel for how to chase links, find new ways to get your information across.

but hell, me just a blonde, maybe best thing is put him in front of a camera, if he's hot enough... :catfight:

If you want him to eventually work for you, then it's real no brainer. Have him do what you see you have a need for.
