Adult Niches That Dont Require Nudity To Sell

Gary and i started talking yesterday about this and we think we have a list of some pretty good niches that would sell like crazy in the gay market even though the content itself would be totally non nude.

We were however wondering how you folks would feel about marketing 'porn' sites that had no nudity on them whatsoever?

Is this something you would do, for example, a gay wrestling site, would you promote it even if the models were fully clothed (in wrestling attire) the whole time?

Works in the straight world no? Lingerie, "NN" sites and the like are pretty successful.
Wrestling would work for sure. Mark Wolffe comes to mind.
The guys would have to be really good looking and very well built though, as there has to be something above ordinary for the viewer to see to catch their eye if you aren't going to show "the goods". Know what I mean?

Nope.

The gay adult market needs a real nude wrestling site. The wrestling niche as it relates to "porn" is about nude, but not necessarily "touching". Those that are into that niche, and buy from the handful of producers that release dvds, are VERY anal about what they want to see.

A non-nude wrestling site would be like a cartoon site imho, maybe lots of people will join to see the eye candy, but they never really stick around. BTW, cartoon sites are my best converters, but worst retainers.

Yes. I started jockbutt.com four years ago, and we rarely if ever have nudity. It's about jockstraps (duh) and fetishwear. that's just what I like, and I thought I'd give it a go.

But after a year of floundering with no real business plan, I was ready to close it because there just weren't a lot of signups. Fortunately I happened to shoot Mark Wolff, and we got into a business discussion about this type of site.

Mark bought in, and now handles all the business aspects of the site while I do the content. The site turned into quite a success, I'm happy to say.

Point is, you can be successful with non-nude sites like jockbutt. But you have to know what you are doing, like any other erotic site. The content has to be sharp, but it's really all about marketing.

Right, most fetish sites, from a surfers perspective, dont need to have nudity on them because the interest isnt in fucking, the interest is geared towards what is happening, guys wrestling, the wrestling clothing, etc.

Whether the guys are, or arent naked in the example im using doesnt matter because naked flesh isnt what those in to a genuine fetish are concerned about.

There was another one i saw recently which was guys farting, all of the models were fully clothed, because the site was about the 'fetish' not naked guys.

Thats my point, there are hundreds of niches that can be marketed very well without showing any nudity at all however, i really beleive most webmasters in the industry these days think they need to show nudity in order to actually make sales.

The problem with that is, they start focusing on making sure they have the right 'hot' models but totally forget its primarily the 'fetish' surfers joining these types of site want to see, not hot guys with their cocks out.

I guess a lot of niches could sell w/o nudity. My passion/fetish is underwear. While I would join a site that just showed guys in underwear, take it a step further and show some bulges and I will stay longer, show some wet underwear and I will stay a bit longer even still, show the head of the cock sticking out and I am there for life. (As long as it's a glamour underwear site and done right).

Concerning wrestling, there is a HUGE market for a nude wrestling site. One nude wrestling site that I market still sells like crazy even though it has a 90's tour.

The one really good thing about non nude sites is it's a lot easier to get the models. I know some guys that would pay you to find them a good kisser if you were doing a kissing site.

Im interested in what these niches your thinking off? Would you avoid nudity so it would broaden your customers to people who don't identify as being gay? Would you not have an adult entry page?

It would certainly broaden your model pool. I think there is a lot to be said here.

i have nn sites in 3 niches and have had almost no tgps or link lists refuse my galleries or free sites.

btw, Club Jeremy Hall - while shooting nn can enlarge your model pool, a lot of the models strongly don't want to appear on porn sites in the form of banners, thumbs, etc, so it can also lessen your promo content.

I can think of LOTS of niches (some that would even appeal to me).

Hairy arm pits, feet, wrestling, food fights, dunk tanks, log rolling*, forced workouts, rubber, bondage, kidnapping, amputees, phone sex, humiliation, suit destruction, head shaving, gunge tanks, post football game massages...

Once in a documentary that I made as a DVD bonus feature I had a scene with three guys cavorting on a beach. There's a bit where they buried a guy in the sand up to his neck. As an attempt at humor and to keep it from getting boring as they buried the guy for about a minute, I sped it up so it only took about 5 seconds. I thought it was just kinda cute and kept with the light-hearted spirit of the rest of the segment, but I was very surprised when people starting emailing me and asking for more guys "sped up."

They told me that they thought it was hot to see hot, muscular and masculine guys looking silly with high squeaky voices and running around really fast.
