What are the good Anti Virus programs?

My Norton Anti Virus is about to expire, so I want to look at the rest of the market to make sure I have the best coverage.

I am now running Vista. What are your experiences with the various Anti Virus programs out there??

Avast is top notch and you can get it free for personal use. I don't use Vista, but with XP it works WAY better and uses tons less resources than others like norton.

Avast! 4 (http://avast.com/). I am using it now for more than a year and it is great. Never had any conflicts with other programs, it updates every day automatically and it protects you even while surfing against trojans, malware and viruses.
Have a look at their site and read about your self. There is much more this program will do.
    Have a nice day,

I ran Avast on my Vista PC and everything is fine.

Then I downloaded it onto my old Windows 2000 Pro machine which has an active version of Norton running on it. Avast discovered an infection by Win32 that has slipped by Norton for months!

    Thank you guys again.
