I usually dont grab threads from other boards but as I know many people just use one board and this particular thread I think has a very interesting objective and also made some very interesting conversation on another board when I had started it:

Dont you believe that...
All studios, producers, webmasters, photographers etc.. etc..
are artists?

I mean you may not be actually sitting there with a paint brush up your ass but..

Someone was telling me PORNO is not art and I have too heavily disagree because who has the right to say what art is.

I know personally with my work.. Im so passionate and loving about it.. I use all my artistic abililitys to try and create something unique & sexy that turns me on.

So in part not only are you creating something that is a fantasy aand is beautiful to you and your consumer.
So there for I would consider pornography some sort of art.

Some porn is so raunchy that I guess it is hard for me to even see past it.. In the end I think all types oof media are art.

It is so weird to me because (USUALLY) and IM USING THE WORD USUALLY HARSHLY.

If I watch a film, look at an add or see how a company represents itself. I can usually tell what type of people Im dealing with and what there general outlooks are. So then I know what to talk about and what not to talk about so there is not wasting time.
To me knowing my product and everyone elses is very important to me. Soo I review everything so I know whats out there.

I think it is interesting just to kinda sit back and observe how would can SLANDER pornography and say it is evil and nasty but as far as Im concerned.. I really enjoy what I do.. I know there is some people out there just making nasty porn for there own fucking nasty reasons and too make $$$... There is nothing wroong with wanting to make money and be successful and there is even nothing wrong with being in porn just to make money and not really put your heart into it.

Just make the normal formula porn.. sell stuff and make some dough.. but there is some individuals and I believe most of the adult industry consider what they do there work and there MASTERPIECES/ART??

I mean who is to say what art is.. Art can be moving picture and art can be photo and painting..So then why is Pornography discluded from this catergorie?? HAHA just because of peoples selfish right too want to tell other people how to live there life. THAT IS JUST PLAIN FUCKING STUPID..In my opinion.

Nope.

In fact, i would say the opposite is true for most studios, producers, webmasters and photographers, very few porn shoots/dvds have any artistic merit to them these days, its just fucking, there are no plots, no scripts, no characters, just naked men and women fucking.

Im sure the people publishing DVDs and pornography would say their own stuff was artistic, but then, its like a child, every parent loves their own.

well Im sure if people put more emphasis and love into what they did then it would sell better or atleast make them happeier.. Atleast I guess, Thats the way it works for me. Why would someone want to do something where they just slapped it together and didnt feel good about something they made that represented them personally.. I just have never quite understood that attitude.

artistic to some degree , but then what is art?

there is an "artistic" element to my work but it can't hold a candle to someone who can take paint to canvas. ( interpreted: I want to "inspire" your other head! )

I think anything you do from cooking, speaking, writing, fucking, whatever, can be an art, providing, as was said, the producer makes it something creative, honest, and from the heart.

So yes, porno can definitely be art, although it doesn't have to be. A producer that just films fucking is not an artist. That's not to say that scene need characters, or elaborate sets, but even the right camera angle, unique lighting/ filters, etc..... can all lead to give an artistic tone to the production. Of course at a certain point this may be deemed "erotic art" and not pornography.... a whole different discussion.

On the flip side, I've seen a lot of so-called "artists" try and pass off something that, IMO, has no artistic merit, no thought or creativity involved whatsoever and is, in effect, simply boring representations of sex, given the mask of being 'art' perhaps even hung in a museum, in many cases solely for some sort of shock value. That, to me, is not art. Although that's not to say I don't mind looking at it
